Hillside will perform with the Royal High School Marching Band at the football game at Royal High School on October 27th.

Students will arrive at Royal at 5:00 with instrument and music.  They will meet the members of the Royal High Band and enjoy a pizza dinner.  Then they will march into the stadium with the High School Band.  Then the students will play in the stands with the High School during the game.  Students will get the 3rd quarter off so they will want to bring money to purchase food at the snack stand. After the game is over the students will put their instruments in their cases and be released to their parents.

Concert Band/ Concert Strings:

Students who are currently in Beginning Band, Beginning Strings, Concert Band or Concert Strings are not required to attend this audition.  This audition is intended for students who are new to Hillside and would  like to be considered for our advanced groups.

Auditioning students are asked to play prepared scales and exercises, and perform a prepared piece of music that best demonstrates their abilities.

An audition is not necessary for enrollment in Beginning Band or Beginning Strings classes.

Today in class we measured the Concert Band and Concert Strings for their Tux shirts.   Many thanks to Mrs. Pokala, Mrs. Panferova, Mrs. Platt and Mrs. Wood for helping measure our students.

I  will order them soon.  The cost is $20.00.  I will let you and the students know when the tux shirts have arrived.

Concert Band and Concert Strings students concert outfit is:

~Tux shirt  ( We will measure and order this for you)

~Black pants

~Bow tie and cummerbund  (supplied by the music dept.)

~Black shoes  -- tennis shoes that are completely black are acceptable.  My criteria is that the shoes comply with the school dress code and are completely black.
